SHARON PORTER

Sharon Porter was born and raised in Waterbury. She is a wife and mother of two. Sharon retired in 2020 after a 38-year career in Human Services. 

Sharon has served her community in a variety of ways. She was the President of the Building Fund Pastor Aide Committee, Director of The Van Ministry Usher, Outreach Coordinator, Secretary of J&J Inc, and The Ole Skool Committee Member to name a few. 

She is responsible for holding many talent and fashion shows for the Waterbury youth. Sharon has a true passion for the people and possesses a remarkable talent for supporting those who are less fortunate. 

In 2013, she founded Lady of Love, an organization dedicated to providing essential services to unhoused and underprivileged individuals. Through this initiative, she has facilitated access to meals, hygiene products and daily living essentials. Through her efforts, Sharon has succeeded in significantly improving the quality of life for many within her community.y student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
