David Addams was Executive Director of the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund for 10 years, where he worked to transform the mission, strategy and culture in service
to responding to these challenging times and persistent structural barriers of racism and poverty. He spent his early career as an attorney and a specialist in negotiation,
mediation, and conflict resolution.
Over the last 30 years, he led various nonprofits serving disadvantaged communities including the Oliver Scholars Program, Associated Black Charities and the New York Urban League. David was also Deputy Manhattan Borough President and Chief of Staff at the Manhattan Borough President’s Office, Deputy Director of the New York Civil Liberties Union and Director of Affiliate Diversity and Strategic Initiatives for the American Civil Liberties Union.
He serves on the board of the ACLU of CT and chairs the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Committee as the Equity Officer, as well
as the board of the CT Council for Philanthropy. David graduated from Princeton University magna cum laude, received a master’s degree from Columbia University School of Journalism and a law degree from Columbia University School of Law.
