Nakia Reddick, a former National Football League player, has dedicated the last decade and a half giving back to the Waterbury community through his leadership as Executive
Director of BAGS Foundation CT.
After playing one year with the Carolina Panthers and another with the Indianapolis Colts, Nakia embraced a leadership role at BAGS Foundation upon his exit from the NFL.
For the past 15 years, BAGS Foundation has been a cornerstone of support, offering vital programs such as the DDS Program, Counseling and Psychotherapy Services, Individual Respite Mentoring, an After-School Program, and Pro-Social Recreational Activities. These initiatives provide crucial assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and young people in need of mentorship, helping them grow academically and personally. Nakia’s dedication to service is rooted in his passion for coaching and teaching young people, guiding them in the game of life.
A celebrated athlete himself, Nakia has been inducted into both his high school and college halls of fame, further exemplifying his commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
Our mission is to provide a culturally responsive system to support some of the most vulnerable populations in our community. We aim to assist children, adolescents, adults and families achieve their goals of independence and living a healthy enriched life.
